Three people work each day shift (two Physicians and an APP), with one Doctor covering overnight. Teaching opportunities are available when medical students and residents from Portland and Boston rotate to the hospital.The typical daily census ranges from 10 and 22 patients and sometimes includes orthopedic and surgical patients. Hospitalists manage critical care patients including ventilator management with full time onsite Respiratory Therapy support. They routinely perform tests and procedures (such as EKGs and stress tests), provide surgical and ED consultations, and more.
