A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Orthopedic team in Queens.

Responsibilities:The Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA) will:
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain medical histories from patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRI scans, and blood tests
- Assess patients' musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and pain levels
- Develop treatment plans in consultation with the supervising Orthopedic Surgeon
- Prescribe medications, physical therapy, and other non-surgical treatments
- Educate patients on their conditions and treatment options.
- Assist the Orthopedic Surgeons in the operating room during surgical procedures.
- Educate patients on post-operative care, rehabilitation exercises, and pain management
- Perform minor orthopedic procedures such as removing stitches, pins, and drainage of abscesses
- Conduct preoperative assessments and ensure patients are prepared for surgery
- Evaluate and triage patients seeking orthopedic care in outpatient clinics or emergency departments
- Maintain detailed patient records, including medical histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Physician Assistant (PA) license
- Orthopedic background
