Guthrie Medical Group seeks a Fellowship Trained Cardiac Anesthesiologist with transesophageal echocardiography examination (TEE) certification for our expanding team. This position will include a faculty position in our Residency program.
Highlights of the Position

Anesthesiology Residency Program
18 state-of-the-art operating rooms
Approximately 250 open cardiac cases annually, as well as TAVR and advanced vascular surgery performed in a hybrid operating room. The position also involves working in the Cath Lab with our cardiologists.
Robust EHR used in all areas, including operating room (EPIC 10-Star health system top 1% of EPIC Organizations)
The Anesthesia Department manages the OR schedule, providing the structure for a smooth, efficient workday.

Candidate Requirements

Ability to obtain/maintain Pennsylvania and New York state license
Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesiology (or in progress)
Certification in Echocardiography (or in progress)

Work-Life Balance

Cardiac Anesthesiologist primarily takes cardiac calls with rare callbacks.
Total time off of 8-10 weeks per year.
7 Holidays per year

Comprehensive Compensation and Benefits

$650K - $675K Salary Range
$200K loan forgiveness available for qualified candidates
$25K Starting Bonus
$25K Retention Bonus for each of the following three years
Quality and Citizenship bonuses are available up to $15K.

Malpractice/Liability Insurance, including tail coverage
Guthrie retirement savings plan (403B) with employer match and age-based contributions.
Allowance for licensure fees Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and renewals
$10,000 referral bonus if you refer a physician that we hire on a full-time basis

Career Development

Meeting time - 14 days with options for home study (up to one week may be converted to vacation time)
$3400 annually for conference registration certifications and membership fees for specialty-specific medical societies
Teaching opportunities - Guthrie has five residency programs plus the Anesthesia Residency. The successful candidate also has the potential to participate in medical student education. Guthrie is a regional campus for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
Physician mentoring and leadership training opportunities are available.

A 254-bed tertiary care referral center, Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, has received numerous national awards for the high-quality care it provides to patients. The hospital is the region's only Level I Trauma Center, accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation, and is served by Guthrie Air, a regional aeromedical helicopter program. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital offers a full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services.
